We also offer Nitrous Oxide Plants. Nitrous oxide gas is a colorless gas at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. It odors and tastes sweet. It is non-flammable gas but aids combustion. When Nitrous Oxide is exposed to hire temperature, this gas decomposes into flammable gas. It is fairly soluble in water, alcohol and oils and is extensively known as laughing gas. S. S. Gas Lab offers nitrous oxide plants with assurance of safety and functionality.
Manufacturing Process
Heating ammonium nitrate (even technical grade) to high temperature in a melter under controlled conditions produces nitrous oxide gas. The molten ammonium nitrate is transferred into a combustion pot where it is decomposed according to the reaction:
NH4NO3 --------- N2O + 2H2O
The reaction needs to be handled carefully. If temperature of ammonium nitrate is allowed to go beyond a certain point then this reaction gives different gases.
